My name is Rock Cowles. I am a web site designer, caricaturist, and graphic artist. I am also a former soldier, sailor, police officer, tattoo artist, body piercer, steel worker, cab driver, aircraft mechanic, and too many other things to get into! I'm also a bit of a gun nut.

I have collected, used, and studied knives my entire life. Tactical folders and fixed blades tend to be my favorites, although I have many others. I have had several knifes in the $500 - $700 price range, but tend towards production blades in the $70 - $150 area. I like a knife I am not afraid to use.

My dad is custom knifemaker & engraver, Don Cowles. http://cowlesknives.com

Due to my interests and his profession, I have attended the Blade Show in Atlanta, Georgia for about the past twelve years. I have had the privilege to meet many great makers, engravers, and factory reps over the years.

I'm usually pretty easy to get along with and if I can help someone out I'll do my best... unless you're a dick, then you are on your own.

Welcome Rock! What are you impressions on Dalton knives? When compared to other knives I think Daltons are priced right to be users and I EDC a mini rung sat to this day.

Nice to se some new blood around here!

I'm still learning about Dalton knives. I came due to an invite on another knife forum from a like-minded individual.

Is like-minded individuals an oxymoron?

glad you made it. do you own any daltons yet? if not you should be able to find some good ones in your price range. i stay away from the newer ones, lack the creativity of the older ones. if i see anything i like around and cant afford to buy( cuz i already payin for 1 or 2 ). i'll send em your way.

happy holidays dude!

Where is the best place to buy new or used Daltons?

Here on this Forum is best or sometimes Blade Forums or Jerzee Devils or Knife Forums. Also, go to Daltons web site and check out his dealers. They can have good ones in stock too!devil0

Thanks, Woodstock. Are all Dalton's autos? He has some wicked designs, but I don't need the legal hassle of carrying an auto EDC. I do want something I can depend on 100%.

Not all Dalton's are autos, just most of them! Supposedly he is going to start making bowies and his current knife comes in a manual configuaration.

hey rock
321 boom got a dalton thread on the jerzee devil. he got about 20 or so for sale. the otf seal w/the .165 blade is by far the best. he wants 325 for it. thats too much imo 250 is more like it. i own one of these and they are very very solid and open like a shot gun blast. seriously they do define how a dalton should feel imo. pvk got some 07s that look pretty cool for 170.00 they say "bad motherfucker" on them and from what i hear the got great snap and solid feel. best thing i can tell you is shop around and use the dalton price guide so you dont get bent over :(

I guess I'm in the wrong forum here, Jason. Most of those knives didn't appeal to me. Different strokes, I guess.

See you in the JD (http://jerzeedevil.com). (Or KnifeDogs.com (http://knifedogs.com) not so often).

It's all good. I knew you were messing around. The Warcoms kick a$$. Now I'm looking for one with a checkered handle. That and a Huck ( which I feel I'll never find)
