Another DIY project that requires more beer drinking.
materials
empty beer bottles
Glass must have the same COE (coefficient of expansion) or it will crack
tools
glass cutter
microwave kiln
10806Blue Budweiser bottle, green Dos Equis bottle, clear Miller Genuine Draft bottle
10814First step is to flatten the curve, heat in microwave kiln for 5 minutes
10808Next trace pattern on glass and cut out with glass cutter
10809Looks like a pile glass shards
10810Put the puzzle together on the base of you kiln, clear piece on top fuses everything together
10812Microwave another 5 minutes, temp reaches approx 1600 degrees. When you can see the orange glow from the top hole, your glass is fusing.
