I am of Italian and Argentinian decent . If my father(RIP) had not come to the USA back in the 60's with a chemical engineer degree from the University of Argentina to be a part of our country defense & having credit on Trident , Poseidon missiles and Stealth works with Lockheed Space and Missiles of Sunnyvale Ca I would more than likely had been a part of this war in 1982 . The stories I heard from vets about how corrupt the Argentine military was for instance the freezing cold and the tv commercials showing the Generals stating "our poor boys freezing in the cold could use dark chocolate cakes and sweets to endure the cold. While the mothers had made and sent hundreds of such items they never even made it to the boys as the fat ass generals ate it all themselves(bastards!) .
One of the more stuck in my mind stories was the fact that the British had enlisted the Gurkhas to go in 1st with no more than their famous blades had silently butchered the Argentine youth in a bloody steam bath .
In 2016 I was fortunate to visit with family after my last visit 25 years ago . I found this cool shop by the beach of military surplus and stuff. I was like a kid in a candy store ,blades. autos and knucks and such. The owner was a vet and I picked up some patches and a blade from that time.
