Hello, I am Dan (Damanupnorth) I have been into blades and guns for thirty years now.
I did a butt-load of gun shows back in the late 70’s & 80’s back with things like cheap
autos out of Italy & Mexico ruled and the few German autos were like gold.
Back then toys like Kershaw’s Trooper, 9mm Uzi were cool and the band new
Mac10 I pickup new as only $400. Well over the years I got rid of all the crap (Mac10)
and collectables, why have a safe queen when a well used tramp was so much more fun.

I am the type of dork that drills into a new Microtech Halo III to put a pocket clip on it.
I did buy a DKW SandShark for EDC – yes it’s a little big in the pocket so I sold the
full size 1911 for 3” ultra raptor and it all worked out.
My son and wife now carry Benchmade's, my daughter adopted a little Paragon auto proto
I pickup at a Sturgis rally about ten years back and my C.R. Sebenza.
I don’t have much compared with most “collectors” but then again I am not a collector.
I just love them for what they are quality & well crafted tools made in USA.
I can’t wait to buy a few off of this site, my first day here I got a real deal so
thanks Dalton Forums.

My top ten toys:
Hayabusa with a Mr. T turbo (not stretched – in MN we like a bike that can take a corner)
Kimber ultra raptor II
Desert Knife Works SandShark
Microtech Halo III (with pocket clip)
Microtech Ultratech (love to carry so thin, wonderful for long bike trips)
Dalton Scale release (should have picked up a dozen when I had the chance)
Chris Reeves large Sebenza (fancy)
Benchmade (about 8 but my Elishewitz is one of my fav’s)
Mac’s SST-50 EDC flashlight (everyone should have one, trust me)
Busse, my only fixed blade - just kicked off the top ten for the new Dalton that just arrived
Dalton G10 2007 - this just in today

Dan,
Let me be the first to welcome you to Dalton Forums. Looks like your on a roll.
Look around and take in all the knowledge here and post away!
I myself never had any luck finding good knives at the Sturgis Rally and I've been there four times.MITUSA

Thanks snapper - some real nice people and a ton of good info.
looks like I have good deal of digging ahead of me.
A for Sturgis dealers have a ton of cheap crap and a few with
selling nice but way over priced like MT Greg Lightfoot for $650 and cheap IT & MX going for
100-200 crazy. I have a brother in-law one town over every year the same bunch meet up.
A few of the high rollers bring a odds and ends to sell off. I never liked the Paragon (no clip) but my girl loves it.
Thank you again for the kind words - you take care.

Wow I need a better job, well next week I will just need a job.

I have been looking all over this site and man some killer deals.
I have a few Microtechs left and sold the ones that were to funky, ugly
or pretty to carry (if wanted art for my walls I would pick up a
little MP5-PDW....MMMM MP5 I better put that back in the spankbank)
but a good 85% of the Dalton's I see are in a reasonable price range
for a good quality tool. I just wish this boy could have more toys!!

Hello Dan welcome to the DF. Seems like you have a nice collection of knives already started. The prices what I see are all over the place and its wise to do you're backround, using the DF price list as a rough guide and what is currectly available. The problem everyone is going to have is that when something comes up for sale that you are interested in it not like its sitting on the shelf in a store somewhere. Dealers stock on Daltons are as good as its going to get with respect to quantity and variations.
These boards are what is going to bring out models and variations that were ordered at the time, so you will come across alot of less common and special Daltons here.
The message I'd most give to new collectors is if you find something actully being offered you like you might just want to jump on it, price within reason. Soon you will learn what that " with in reason " is after you had several excape.

Cheers,

Know this is late as most of mine are, but looks like you and me got about the same taste in blades. Almost exact!

Anyway, enjoy it here and do be sure and pick up some more Daltons. Never can have too many of those!

Welcome Dan, Some nice toys.
One that got my attention is the Busa with the hair dryer. :)
Mine has an Inter cooled MC Express kit @ 314 to the ground or so. A Hoot to ride!!
