Hey there fellas, I just acquired a Dalton Assassin. Damn big knife, and it seems very well made. I do plan on carrying it when need be. Only thing is, I would like do away with the pocket clip and instead utilize a sheath. Anyone know where a guy can get a sheath to fit such a massive knife? ANy advice or infor would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Jason Edit** The Assassin that I bought has PROTO on one side of the blade, down near the bottom. Is this the one that according to the reference guide there were only around 20 of them made? Really does not matter too much though. Rob intended for these knives to be used, and that is what I plan on doing (If needed). Last edited by jfever311; 02-28-2010 at 12:07 PM. |

I wonder if a stick magazine holster for a Thompson rifle (Tommy gun) would work. Check Maxpedition, you never know. You could go down to your local Tandy Leather store (if you have one) and see if they know anyone that would do some custom work.......

I just got two ordered two nylon sheaths off ebay that should work. They are 2 1/4" X 6 1/2". The length will be close, but might end up just right. If a sheath is too tall, then the knife gets swallowed in it and it is harder to remove hen it is needed. I would rather have a little extra exposed, just in case.
Either way, I am still going to have a leather sheath made to fit the Assassin. That would be fitting, and worthy...... |

One more thing, how would a guy go about contacting Robbie Dalton himself? This knife has a design that is very limited in function. Would the maker himself trust the strength of the locking mechanism, and the pins that hold the knife together in a life or death situation?
Would any of you guys? |

Hi,
f you would like to contact Rob Dalton, email him throughtthe DCC website. As far as trusting the locking mechanism with your life....you push the button the blade pops out. For cutting flesh it works just fine. Closing that big boy can be like setting a bear trap. My 2 cents is that it has its limitations like everything else. Knowing and staying within the limitations it what brings the human element into play. Take a picture with your custom leather sheath and let us see iot when it comes in. Maybe that what I need to start making in my retirement is custom sheaths! Jay

Hey fellas!!
Just got these pictures from Rick (known as RayBan on the forums) at RG Leather. The top one is the sheath he made for my Assassin. The bottom one he made for my fathers Battle Dragon. Both have N50 neodymium magnets in place of snaps, just like we like them. As you can see, these things are frickin' HUGE!! Mine should be here by the middle of the week. Here is the thing, I am thinking that my father might have to back out of getting his right now, so Rick may have his up for sale soon. If any of you guys who own a Battle Dragon would like a custom leather sheath for it, let me know. BTW, instead of sending Rick the actual knives, I made wooden blanks. That is what you see in the pictures. With no further avail, here are the pictures... . . . . |

Ole' Rick hit a home run with this one!! I posted a thread a while back about having a sheath made for my Dalton Assassin with a magnetic flap. Rick (RayBan) took the job, and simply did an amazing job.
Thank you, Rick. You frickin' rock!! . . . . |
