Ted, I recently got the Custom Thumper with the Damascus skull/glass breaker with the upgraded Desert Ironwood scales from DM9, and I love this knife. Mine has a super strong spring for a very hard snap. I hope your does as well! Gotta love all the file work on the blade and backspacer.
You got it for a good price too, but I still like mine with the desert Ironwood scales a little better

This one has it's own charm for sure, I like the Jade on it, I really like a small Thumper I picked up from Bob quite awhile ago. It had a lot of file work also! I've always liked these knifes!!
