The original cross shaped Crusader OTFs were announced on 17 June 2003. 100 of the black Crusaders were made. I think that this is the Dalton shop’s first foray into such a radical design. The new style logo (with Dalton COMBAT CUTLERY above and below the shield) was applied to the blades with the (then) new stenciling machine. The original black handled pieces were not fitted with a pocket clip.
Dimensions:
OAL: 8 - 5/8"
Blade Length: 2 - 1/2"
Handle Length: 6 - 1/8"
Max Width: 2 - 7/8:
Max Thickness: 0.498"
The Clip Crusader was announced on 07 August 2003. It is similar to the earlier Crusader model, except that it has a pocket clip and was available in two different color schemes. It is the same size as the Crusader. The handle colors were Red with silver veining and Green with silver veining. The red/silver has the engraved Devil emblem and is called the Devil Crusader. The green/silver variant has an engraved Shamrock and is called the Celtic Crusader. There were 64 pieces made in each color scheme. None of the Crusaders or Clip Crusaders were serialized.
