The Mini Crusader was announced on 17 December 2003. This downsized version of the regular Crusaders uses a lever rather than the plunge/button lock of its larger brothers. There were 192 pieces made with black handles. “Dalton? is engraved on the handle. The little 1.2 inch blade was too small to fit a regular Proto marking. One piece was marked with a “P? on the charging lever and the remaining Protos were marked with a “P? on the blade. The mini-Crusader could be considered to be the first “wearable? Dalton and a number of people wear these on a necklace as a pendant.
