The CQC Mini is very similar to the CQB7 Mini. The overall handle shape/outline is nearly identical, with only a few subtle differences. The main difference between these two models is that the mini CQC handles have rectangular rubber inserts (two on the front and one on the back). Both use slab and spacertype construction. Of the three specimens that I own, two have the more modern pocket clip, and one has a wider than normal pocket clip. However, the clip is not as wide as the older handmade clips. This indicates that the mini CQC may have been made while the Dalton shop was transitioning between the older pocket clips and the more modern pocket clips. The clip attaching screws are dome headed. I estimate these as late 1996 production. They were not serialized, but have the “USA? engraving on the rear part of the front handle. I have only seen these with tanto blades, but the blade thickness may be 1/8? or 3/16?. I have not seen a logo etched on any. CQC-Mini may not be the correct name, if indeed this model was actually given a name by the Daltons. The name “TAK? has also been used for this model. The range of blade finishes for this model is unknown. I only recall seeing beadblast blades.

The dimensions of the mini-CQC:

Overall Length: 6 – 11/16 to 6 – ¾?
Blade Length: 2 - 3/4? to 2 - 13/16?
Blade Thickness: 0.128" or 0.187
Handle Thickness: 0.495? or 0.551? (not including the pivot or clip)
