Our eighteenth Dalton of the Week again encompasses two related models, the SOF 00 and the SOF 2000. The SOF 00 double edged dagger was released in October 2000, after the SOBs were completed. The handle is somewhat similar to the SOB II at first glance, but they are actually substantially different. The thing you first notice is that the top edge is razor sharp. You have to be really careful closing this one !!!

I am not aware of any variations within this model. As far as I know they were all OD with full beadblast blades. There were 120 made.
The dimensions of the SOF 00 are as follows:
Overall Length: 9 - 3/8"
Blade Length: 4 - 1/16"
Blade Thickness: 0.173"
Handle Thickness: 0.540"
The SOF 2000 was a specially marked version of the Thumb Release model, which in turn was a modified Scale Release. These came about due to a distribution glitch. For some reason, one of the larger Dalton distributors did not get any of the SOF 00 pieces. Mr. Dalton made him 10 of the SOF 2000 pieces in November of 2000. Those 10 were the only ones made. I am not aware of any variations within those 10 pieces. Our friend George at SRKnife got all ten pieces from that distributor and may be able to provide additional information. Here's a picture of the SOF 2000:

The dimensions of the SOF 2000 are as follows:
Overall Length: 8.0"
Blade Length: 3 - 7/8"
Blade Thickness: 0.125"
Handle Thickness: 0.536"
It is also of interest to note that these are the last of the Dalton SOF knives. They were made to commemorate the Soldier of Fortune Convention starting, as far as I can tell, in 1994 with the 15th SOF convention. The SOF Convention in 2000 was the last one.
